Drink Trays--these were for the drink order. Dark brown plastic with a thin cork surface. Some of us would try to spin them on our fingers. Next to them I think we kept a box of Lance crackers for the salad orders. Under this area was the safe (a cylindrical shaft passed from just-above floor level about 1.5 feet into the concrete slab. We'd shove the days monies, receipts and change bag down into it, put the round, bankvault-like top on it [it had a thick wire handle] and spin the dial to lock it. To unlock it, you dialed in the combo and had to push in on the dial and rotate to unlock it--sounds easy, but it was dark and cramped down there).
